Default The easiest way to install Snow Leapard

After many failed attempts I have found the easiest way to install Snow Leopard on my dell Minni 9 so i figured i would share with the rest of you, before i start i want to thank some of the members on this board, tchariya and masari for pointing me in the rite direction. This guide is for those hew have a hackintosh and want to either upgrade or do a clean install of snow Leopard
What you will need
1: 16 Gig flash drive
2: NetbookBootMaker_0.8.3_RC3.app You can download it from the link below
http://code.google.com/p/netbook-ins...downloads/list
Step 1
Use disk utility to partition your flash drive
choose partition tab, Volume scheme select 1Partition go to the options tab and use guide partition on the right hand name your flash drive something like snow Leopard DVD, for format choose Mac OS extended (Journal) hit apply once done run netbookBootMaker choose the flash drive you just partitioned let it finish

Step 2
Restart computer and boot from flash drive ( either set up your bios to boot from your flash drive or just find out what key to hit on your net book to get into boot options if all goes well your install should start without a hitch. I chose to do a clean install you can now remove the flash drive , you well not need it to start your computer again, everything worked flawlessl. I even did the latest updates

Once again thanks to those that helped me

Default I think thats the (very) short version of...

mechdrews USB-Installation:
NetbookInstaller 1: USB Installation via Mac | Guides | OS X | mechdrew

...which also works with Snow Leopard - I did it that way (Dell Vostro A90). Thanks again to mechdrew for his great guide!

I just followed this guide and everything worked perfectly the very first time! Multitouch on the trackpad (VERY NICE!!) Oh, and although it does take a little longer to boot, I haven't noticed any sluggishness like others have reported. In fact, it seems to run better IMO. I also don't have any problems with the rendering or audio. Even (external usb) bluetooth works.

BTW, I have a Mini10v 1GB N270 120GB (previously running 10.5.8, now upgraded to 10.6.1)

I did the same install method but after running NBI I couldn't "mirror the displays". Did mirroring work for you?

Question

I've been a little put off by the complaints about no sound or no external video with the upgrade to SL, so I've patiently waited a month.

First, have these two problems been fixed? (it's not clear from all the posts i've read)

I'm using my Mini9 for iPhone/iPod Touch development and need both sound and the external monitor to work, as the mini-9 screen is a little too tiny for both the XCode windows and the simulator.

Second, I just bought a USB DVD-DL writer and want to know if I make an image copy of the SL DVD instead of copying it to a USB drive, can NBM or NBI modify the DVD image (mounted, of course) and then I can burn that image to a new DVD to do the install?

THESE HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED IN THE 0.8.3 of NBM and NBI on SL and L

I don't believe this will work at all. You would have to image a USB stick, run NBM on the stick..and then *maybe* try to create another image from the USB to the DVD....sounds like one too many steps.

*****
IF you have a SL DVD already...just plop it into the DL DVD you bought and attach the DVD to your 10V and boot from DVD/CDROM! You will be able to install OSX, then all you would have to do is run the NBI app and bless the 10V.

The NBM method is really for people who don't have an external DVD drive.
