Post Will 2100 ever get 1024x600 screen resolution? - 09-14-2009, 03:28 PM

Just wondering if anyone knows if the Latitude 2100 will eventually be available with 1024x600 screen resolution. Other posts indicate this option would be available in Aug. '09, but as of mid Sept. its still not listed on Dell's US site. Would like to get one, but the 1024x576 resolution is a deal breaker for me.

Default 600 Resolution? - 09-15-2009, 12:35 AM

I bought my 2100 from the refurb site, a week or 2 ago I saw a few had the resolution listed as 600. I've had a couple mini 10Vs sitting next to each other one 576 other 600, I fail to see the difference. As far as I'm concerned the screen doesn't matter to me, my 2100 is a 576 screen, that's my opinion.

Thanks Thunder. I checked dozens of 2100's on the US outlet, but none listed screen resolution. All show:

Laptop Screen
10.1 inch WSVGA LED Laptop Screen
or
10.1 inch WSVGA Touchscreen LED Laptop Screen

If I do decide to purchase a 2100, I will absolutely get one from the outlet as all show Windows XP Pro with Vista Business lisc. as the OS. Not that I'll use either, but its nice to have options.

I thought I'd seen a couple in the US outlet listed with a 1024x600 screen. The nice thing about Vista business is it qualifies the 2100 for a free Windows 7 upgrade.

Default No Upgrade - 09-18-2009, 02:04 AM

Latitude 2100 isn't eligible for Windows 7 upgrade at all, no matter what OS it has. Unfortunately. They only listed the screen resolution for a short while.

According to this, which is from Dell's own Windows 7 eligibility site, it does as long as it has Vista business.

I forgot to add I saw a couple in the outlet today that listed a 1024x600 screen. Who knows if it's a misprint, but it was on the system description.

Default Upgrade - 09-18-2009, 06:33 AM

When I tried to apply on Dell's site for the Windows 7 upgrade it wouldn't allow it , said the 2100 wasn't eligible.

That's interesting because it's on the list and a lady I spoke to at Dell Small Business said it was.
