What do you mean "shift + 2 = wrong"?

You typed "@" in your question

Usually I know:
on my Mac I use Shift+2....
on my PC I use Alt Gr+Q ....

But when I use my dell mini 10v with OS 10.5.8 with German keyboard layout

Shift + 2 : Result is " (This sign)

Ah, you should have probably specified you were using a German keyboard

Not sure what to tell you here... because on the American English keyboard the "Shift + 2" works and the output is : "@"

I do not even know what the "Gr" key is, apparently only on German keyboard (Alt Gr+Q)

If your mac prints a @ for Shift + 2 it's most likely not a german mac.

The german shortcut for "@" on a mac keyboard is ALT + L.

"Alt Gr" is a key on international keyboards, including the US-International keyboard. It is used for selecting diacritics and other special characters.
