I tried by NetbookInstaller 0.8.5pre,it show "Ma****osh HD(Update Install)."

Please advise me
if you see "Ma****osh HD(Update Install)," where you expect to see "Mac OS X Install DVD," i would give it a shot and select that.

i have to date stayed away from 0.8.5 pre as i had some difficulties with it when i did try it a few months back. but i didn't try it for an initial install (i think at the time is was only available for updates).

technically speaking the dvd IS an update so i suppose it's possible 0.8.5 pre reflects that.

only thing is make certain what you have is a retail disk (either 10.6.0, or 10.6.3). the methods in this forum will not work with OEM disks that come packaged with Macs, and the forum does not support downloaded versions of the software. this isn't by any means a suggestion that that's what you're using. I only make the point because no version info is provided in your query.

Worse comes to worse, use 0.8.4 rc1 instead. hopefully that'll give you better results.

GL.

I don't know what I am doing wrong but I can't get this to work. In the past I had used my Macbook to install direct to the Runcore with 10.5. Since then I have installed XP/7/Ubuntu multiple times just playing around. Now recently following a guide from Tonymacx86 I built a nice stable Hack Mini at home and would like to get my Mini 9 back to OS X.

I followed this guide to the letter but when the install is done I get the Apple Grey screen and then sometimes i get the spinning wheel and sometimes I don't But either way i get a grey screen after that and then nothing. I have left it for hours and still nothing. Once or twice I actually hear the Intro screen startup and somebody talking about accessibility but I have no video just the grey screen.

I was able to use the -x once to get to safe mode and ran the NBI 0.8.4RC1 but still get the same thing. I've run the NBI from the USB drive in the install screen but still nothing.

Mini 9 32GB RunCore 1.3 web cam 2GB Ram BT A06 10.6.3 retail

Please help. This is the 13th time i am trying this. I've tried creating the NBI boot USB from one of the other guides here to see if I could get that working and still nothing.
