Hi all,

I'm very new to all this, but have read A LOT in the past month or so. I'm having some well documented issues with Still Waiting For Root Device errors after running NBI, specifically after running Install Extensions.

After a lot of reading and comparisons between my currently working (though likely fragile) OSX install and a USB drive install (a CCC clone) exhibiting the symptoms, I am very suspicious of the AHCIportinjector.kext.

Can someone please tell me a little more about it? Whether it could cause a Still Waiting For Root Device error? And if so, what I can do about it? Ie. Whether it can be deleted/replaced, and how.

Just to confirm, installation is spot on. The issues come post-install, when NBI is required to repair other issues such as no audio, hibernation error messages etc. It's happened with both 0.8.4 and 0.8.3 versions.

Another guy on the forum - Scooter70 - is having the same problem. We'd just like someone a little more clued up to take an interest please! Thanks!

You can remove it, it's there for ION netbooks. It shouldn't affect anything, buy you never know.

I tried it; didn't seem to make any difference. Back to the drawing board.

My "drawing board" was to reformat and reinstall. I tried 10.6.2 and 0.8.3 but still had issues.

Until the details/issues with 10.6.3 and 0.8.4+ get resolved, I've gone back to Windows7 only. At this point, I'm tired of messing around with this machine and want it to just work.
