Maybe years to late, but yesterday I installed Snow Leopard 10.6.3. on my Dell Mini 9.
I had the same problem like Menthol with the "Pinwheel of Death": Used NBI 8.4 RC1 from a bootable USB-flash several times: Started, but after 2 mins the pinwheel appeared.

For me it worked with another solution:
I used an Netbook CD 1.1 (With 0.8.4 RC1 in it) Image, installed it on an USB Flash, a Mac OS X DVD Rip on a second USB Flash, and it worked perfect!

Do these methods require an Apple computer? Can I create a Dell Mini Hackintosh WITHOUT using an Apple computer?
