Hello, I'm off for the holidays now but When I get back I really want to try this. When I looked in the OSX HCL list this came a long on almost identical hardware of the 10v so this hast to work. And I really want to try this but I am on vacation right now with family so PLEASE is someone willing to try this? Don't format you OSX or something just add a partition because you need the Kexts from Snow Leopard to get it working

Lion retail now works with 32 bit. You need a couple of files from the DP1.
Source: HCL 10.7.0/Portables - OSx86

The performance is is much better than in SL. It is much faster.
Install Method: Extract Retail disk to a USB key. You'll need a USB Keyboard/Mouse for installation.
Bootloader: Chameleon RC5 r1083. Later versions of Chameleon do work.
Kernel: mach_Kernel. 32-bit Kernel from lion dp1.
Kexts: Use the kexts you have for SL.

You have to replace the following from lion 10.7DP1 onto lion 10.7 final install:
AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext
AppleIntelCPUPowerManagementClient.kext
AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext
mach_kernel.ctfsys Mach:kernel
and also add Match_kernel_dp1_atom_apic to root directory,
com.apple.finder.savedstate from library/saved application state/
ubiquity from privateframeworks/ubiquity.frameworks/versions/A/ubiquity
com.apple.finder.plist from library/preferences/com.apple.finder.plistFinder
32Bitsfinder app Lion dp1 from system/Library/coreservices
You need to change the above finder app in order to have a working 32Bit finder,for lion 10.7 has a default 64Bit finder and it will not work in your 32 Bit system otherwise.
Also if you wish to install onto an MBR partition you have to use Nawcom MBR patch.

No you don't have to already have an Installed DP1 on your 10v. Just need to copy over some files to an Retail image restored USB drive.

(Yes I have Legal Acces to de DP versions of Lion )
And these files contain © but only if you modify them and NO we don't modify them. We just Use them for Normal use. (Getting my Mac Mini working )
So make sure you already have Snow on it 10.6.7 or 10.6.8. Make a new partition. Just to make sure save all your Snow Leopard Kexts to an USB drive. (the System/Library/Extensions Folder) and make an Lion boot USB (use Unibeast or something else what you want) and copy over the files needed like kernel etc. to the USB drive. Now boot it and install. Now boot into Snow NOT Lion and copy your Extension folder to Lion. And copy over the files from DP1 again.
Now you can boot into Lion and it has to work

Prasys just tested it out. And Clearefyed it worked. But you can't use the normal Installer to install Lion. You have to install Lion on a USB from a Real mac or a 64 bit running Hackintosh. And then clone it back to your 10v HD from out Snow. (make a partition for it first) with the kernel and patches from the first post to get it fully working on a Dell mini 10v

You are obviously a mac geek and know what you are talking about.

Thanks for mentioning that it's the Compaq CQ 10-110ES on that page that you are referencing, could of saved me a bit of trawling. You have pretty much copied and pasted the entry but is bunched up and confusing to read. Why not just provide a link direct to the entry?

I am a noob and I have been hackintoshing a mere 2 weeks now. Thanks to guys like Oscar and Prasys who actually write tutorials that even a dumbass like me can understand I am running a fully updated and fairly stable 10.6.8. This is my first post on this forum. Fair enough. What I said may get me the ban hammer but for goodness sake throw me a frikkin bone here. I really want to get to the next level but posts like this really chap my ass.

Now for the questions, you don't know if you don't ask...

I have a copy of lion DP1 (Yes It's a legal copy thanks to my Cuz). I have used Pacifist to open it and I have only been able to find and extract the following.
AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext
AppleIntelCPUPowerManagementClient.kext
AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext
ubiquity
com.apple.finder.plist

The rest of the list, mach_kernel.ctfsys Mach:kernel, Match_kernel_dp1_atom_apic and 32Bitsfinder I can't find. How do I write all of the above files to 10.7? Can I use 10.7.2 instead?

Am I to assume I use all the kexts from /Extra/Mini10vExt or the actual SL kexts? Do I only need certain ones or all of them? Where do these kexts go?

Please consider the fact that I have googled my ass off to try and figure this out and came up trumps. I guess if I had a broader knowledge of osx I would know what to look for. Could somebody please point me in the direction of what I need to get hack-a-lackin. Thanks and please forgive my frustration. I would ask my cousin who I got DP1 off, but he lives on the other side of the country. Being a tech, he doesn't take to kindly to family members calling up for tech support. He is a busy man and considers my little hackentoshing project to be very amusing. So amusing that he cracks up laughing at the mere mention of it. I kind of want to slap him through the face with a fully working Lion 10v. That should stop his snickering.

I have found the key to success with things like this is patience, When I try something new I choose a time when I have the time to restore things if it goes wrong.
I also wait until others are claiming success and have posted some information.
I then take my time making sure I have all the files needed.
I will be following this thread and the other like it googling every time something I don't understand comes up.
If I get an error I google the error and see if that leads me anywhere.
Then of course I write a post on forums.
Lion on the 10v is a little way off for me at the moment but I will get great pleasure following peoples efforts and having a go myself when the time is right.

Oh, I more than have the patience. I am a long time windows user (or sufferer) for one.
It took me a week of googling, fact checking, looking up errors and trawling the arse of the internet to get a half decent 10.6.8 running. I am not exactly the sharpest tool in the box but I plug on until I get there.
Crabhunter one of the things I find frustrating about the whole apple hacking scene is the fact that only a handful of people seem to be doing all the work and everybody else hangs back until they are done. Without Melkort and Nawcom I would not be able to run 10.6.8 on my 10v. If they choose not to make a 32bit solution for netbooks I doubt anybody but a handful of people will be able to get theirs up and running. Lion was released back in July and there is still no word on how to install it on the 10v so I doubt its going to happen. If anybody does get it working they will leave leave half ass "get x and put it into y and then install it with c" kind of tutorial like you were looking over there shoulder while they were doing it.
I have the patience to fail 100's of times until I succeed. I want to do it, just point me in the right direction. Its a mixture of having the patience to it and the drive to get it done.
If people like Steve Jobs sat back and waited for others to do it I doubt the Personal computer would be as ubiquitous as it is today. Heck I doubt computers would even have a gui and if they did I doubt it would be much better than windows 98. Through patience and dedication Jobs took it further than anybody could. The rest of of the world is still trying to catch up.
Not that I am an apple fan. Mac tax is just too steep for me.
