Default iLife 11 - 10-31-2010, 10:23 AM

hi

has anyone installed iLife 11 yet on their Dell Mini?
I checked the apple specs and it says it requires a 1280x768 screen. I only want to use iPhoto 11 and was curious if it ran ok in windowed and full-screen mode.

I'm currently using iPhoto 06 without problem even though the apple specs say this needs a 1024x768 screen. My Dell Mini 9 is a 1024x600 screen.

I know if I buy iLife and it doesn't work, I cannot return it so checking before I make the leap.....

Cheers,
James

Thanks, I'm going to give it a go tonight, hopefully it'll give me no problems. It'll be my first ever use of iLife so looking forward to it .

Thanks shmuelmr
I decided to buy it. My main machine is a MacBook Pro and this installed without problem on this. Having iPhoto on my Dell Mini 9 was just a bonus.

The installation went without a hitch. Most functions appear to be ok but I've come across a few so far where either the top or bottom of the screen is chopped off. I have a utility called DisplayScale which can resize the screen to 75%. Usually I run this if there is a dialog box which is hidden off the screen. Unfortunately iPhoto just crashes if the screen resolution is "hacked" to make it smaller.

apart from those issues, iPhoto runs great and even some of the slideshows which i thought would tax the DM9 run very smoothly.

I have it also and the only one that gives you issues with the mini screen is garageband which I dont' use so no issues.

for the screen resize issues on occasion I use the "Statusbar" app that is in the screen resizing thread. Installed it in my logins and it is a FANTASTIC little app for the mini screen issues. You can resize from 100% down to 60%
