Default Latitude 2120 windows 8 RTM and touchscreen - 11-17-2012, 04:14 PM

Great news. Acer has released window 8 drivers for ideacom 6651 touch screen. Look for Acer Z3771. After you download you can not install with setup or from the msi, it says not supported on this computer. You must use the msisexec command to extract out the drivers and then update the USB HIDS drivers manually.
IT works like it did in the preview versions. I am using WIN 8 RTM 32bit. Dell has not released their version and dont know if they ever will. This makes the 2120 a a good computer for windows 8 touch features.

thank you tinvaje. touch now works beautifully on my 2120. had to say thanks.

I am however stuck with two problems in device manager 1) PCI Device and 2) Unknown device.

Do you know how to resolve those two devices?

I had the same issue when I upgraded to Windows 8 on my 2100. Be sure to install the Intel Chipset Driver for Windows 7, found on Dell's support site:

Drivers & Downloads | Dell United States

After a reboot windows 8 detected the devices correctly, and it was able to update them via Windows Update.

The two drivers, from the device manager hardware descriptions are available from dell
1st is the card reader
2nd is the Motion sensing built in to system, use the window 7 driver from dell.
The 2100 and 2120 are really two different system, the chipset are different even the touch screen hardware between them different.
