This was mentioned back in December, but I was wondering if anyone has tried SimCity 4 on the Mini 9. Although I do not think there will be any issues since the game is fairly old, I wanted to check before I buy it.

I've searched for 'Simcity', but all I could find was this post:http://mydellmini.com/forum/list-of-...30.html#p12168

Do you remember who confirmed that Simcity 4 does not work?

I went ahead and bought Simcity 4, and it works great. The screen is a little limited during the tutorial, but I think it will be fine during normal play. I will update if it starts to bog down as I build a larger city.

1. Use a USB DVD Drive
2. Use your home network to share a DVD drive of another computer
3. Use another computer to copy the files to a flash drive, and install it from there (should work on games without CD checks anyway).

Also, you probably need to use NO-CD cracks with the games

QuakeII runs fine. I installed it off the original CD, onto a memory stick. Yes I got the external cd/dvd player option with my mini9. It was interesting as once installed to the USB memory stick if I didn't leave the stick installed I got problems.

I believe the mini 9 uses the GSE945 controller/graphics chipset, which has had it core clock dropped to ~100MHz to keep the overall system power usage low. So it's not a demon graphics wise, but many older games work just fine.

Anyway, I'm using my mini9 to code games, so after playing quakeII for a bit I uninstalled it.

Nice to know the option is there. I might try installing call of duty II.
