Great to see that we're getting closer to working out something.,

Tis a bummer that the unit has to go back to Dell in order to fix it...
Will they not fix mine tho as I have installed a Runcore drive and do not have the original anymore?
Edit what did u say to the support line? I can't get them to understand the issue!

After getting my Dell taken away from repair I received it back today.

They only replaced the motherboard and it is working fine.

Dang, is replacement the only option? The motherboard in mine was pulled from another machine.

Yeah I think so. Unless Dell release any further details on what the actual problem is.

It would appear that I also have this problem.
Really hoping there is some sort of a solution as I have not had a good experience in the past with Dell Customer Services.

I've been in contact with Dell over the last few days and it must be said they have been VERY helpful, clear and polite. A vast improvement over last year.

My Mini9 was scheduled to be picked up by courier tomorrow (luckily I was within a 2 week 'grace period' at the end of my warranty) though I missed a call this evening with a voicemail left informing me a new battery and power adapter will be sent out instead (need to confirm my details first).

To be honest I doubt it will fix this problem, though we shall see.

Well, it's finally happened (& this is my 2nd Mini). If the 3rd Mini fails, I don't believe I'll be getting another one & I might also be done with Dell.

My Sony laptop + desktop & Dell 600M, while slow by today's standards + hot like an m f-er, have yet to fail me in ways the Mini has . ~knock on wood~ Oh man, am I'm disappointed....

I'm glad I didn't do any upgrades yet & that this was at the top of the forum.

Edit: I've seriously tested my Mini for about 9 hrs now, & I believe that the OEM AC adapter went bad/shorted out somehow. It is running from the outlet/surge protector currently with a different adapter. The 1st one I used was OEM + the other was non-OEM. I will continue to monitor the computer. I wonder if that's what killed the 1st Mini (because it worked so perfectly that I can't believe it was a lemon or that I have such bad luck)....

I'm glad it seems to be turning out to be a false alarm ('cause I was about to wonder how 2 Minis would fail in the same way in such a short time)....

Edit#2: About the AC adapter/charger that failed, I noticed that it's different to the OEM one that I have now. The picture quality is not exactly what I would like (when you zoom in), but the prongs should be clear enough. The 1 on the left is the one that failed.
