Default Navigation in the US with Dell Streak 5 - 03-24-2012, 07:07 AM

I looked at the previous threads on the subject, but they are all several years old.
I am planning to travel through the Southwest of the US in May and am now looking for a suitable app for navigating with preloaded maps, so that I need not be connected to the internet, as I do not have a flatrate for the US (I live in Germany). Is there an app with preloaded maps that you can recommend?

Sygic Mobile is very good. You can preload which maps you require, license is for lifetime updates and updates are fairly frequent as the navigation software comes from Tomtom. I have it in multiple devices and find it simple to use and maps a clear.

Default Sygic Navigation - 05-03-2012, 07:39 AM

Thank you for your reply re sygic. I have taken your advice and invested in this for the US and also for Western Europe. I don't know yet how the updates work, do you get info that there are updates available?

Am looking forward to my trip to the Southwest starting in 2 weeks' time. Hope that I will not get lost now with Sygic!

Also, how do you get Sygic onto several devices? I have three Streaks and would naturally like the maps on all three devices.

I received info that within a few weeks' time there will be an update to the Sygic app which will enable the app to be run on several devices, without having to pay for the app/maps for each device.
