A lot of us are using astray to run a downscaled 1024x768 for flash apps and others that need the full 768 lines.

Just wish this would work in Windows 7...

upgrade to bios A04. A04 fixes this boot resolution problem
Indeed it does. My workaround was adequate but messy. Now there is no problem at all.

Since installing this, i can no longer display a 1280x768 resolution on our 40" Sony 1080p TV via VGA without having to scroll. It used to work perfectly but now only 800x600 will display full screen.

My Mini: Dell Mini 9, Obsidian Black, 16gb SSD, 8gb SDHC, 2gb RAM, 1.3mp Webcam, Bluetooth, White Dell Bluetooth Travel Mouse, Windows 7 Ultimate

I have followed all the comments in this thread and cannot get this fix to work - I still get the windows welcome screen at 1024x768 and after login it jumps to 1024 x 600 (and means all icons are reset)

I have tried AStray programme - does not change the boot resolution
I have upgraded BIOS to A04 and then A05
I have upgraded to latest Intel video drivers

Any thoughts as to what I can do next?

Omg, I actually went to Dell support a while back for this, and I always saw the screen flicker.

Now, it's fixed! woot
Thanks so much.

You have given good information on XP Resolution. I will also try for this XP resolution and let's see what will happen than. Hope I don't get any problem. Thank you very much for giving this XP resolution. I think this will be useful for those whose screen resolution is not good any more.

Hi. I have a dell mini 9, have read the thread, have the A05 bios, the most current Intel driver and am still having resolution problems. I installed Astray and now my computer starts in 1024x768 which still makes me scroll down to see the taskbar/other icons etc. Is there another fix I am missing? I want to start in 1024x600 but whenever I restart now it is 1024x768 (courtesy of Astray) whereas pre-Astray it was 800x600. Can someone pls help? Much thanks in advance.
