Hi,

This is my first post here and really hope you can help me out, I've searched quite a bit for the answer for this with no luck.

My mini 9 Has a broken screen and I use a VGA monitor with it. Having done a fresh install of xp and updates at some point I've noticed that the external display doesn't become active until just before the windows login screen meaning I can't access my bios or startup options for future maintenance or fresh installs.

I've tried the old power on and close the lid quickly but the monitor doesn't get an input until the windows screen.

Is there any way to enable the external display by default? Does this need done in the bios or are there hot keys to trigger it at the dell screen? If it needs done in the bios, can someone tell me the key combo to enable as I can press 2 to bring up the bios and then just follow the key combo supplied.

I'm not aware of such an option in the BIOS. Does Fn-8 not work here?
