Default Bad Memory... - 03-21-2011, 10:15 PM

I need to upgrade my memory b/c it is fried as per geeksquad, so where is the best place to buy a 2gb ddr2 800 memory?
And what one do I really need to be 2 gb compatible with my mini 10v?

Thanks to all in advance!

Assuming that they diagnosed the problem correctly...

Just about any laptop (=200pin SO-DIMM) DDR2 module should work in the Mini 9, 10v or 1012. Here's Newegg's selection of 2GB DDR2 laptop modules, but you should be able to find one for $30 anywhere online (including Amazon). I'd avoid no-name brands, but I'd use just about any real brand: Corsair, Crucial, PNY, Kingston, etc.

Mini 1012 | SSD | Intel 6200 Wifi | Ubuntu 11.10 64bit

I dunno about the brand, but spec-wise, I believe that should work in a 10v.

what about this one...
Rendition by Crucial 2GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Laptop Memory Model RM25664AC800

They said that it would be the memory because
1. the cd that shipped with it will not install properly
2. the drivers will not install
3. Hard drive test passed, but memory test did not pass.

I bought a 2 GB stick of DDR2 PC5300 (667MHz) ram for mine, since that was what the online resources I found said that I needed.

Did I get the wrong type??

Thanks
Jeff
