Hey guys.

I also don't have any of the addictional software installed.

Though everything worked fine for quite some time now, something very strange happend today. I tried to connect my projector to dell and the display turned white and there was nothing left to do, but reset it with power button. I tried again and it was the same. I started to think about what can be different and the only thing that crossed my mind was - cable. So I swaped directions and it worked. I couldn't bealived it couse the connectors on both sides looks as twins. I tried to swap it again, and the screen was white again...

Best regards

Very interesting!
Roughly how long is your VGA cable?

On a side note - cable length, gauge and quality seem to matter a lot.
I bought a Dell LCD monitor a while back - hooked it up via DVI to my Mac with the DVI cable that came with the monitor.
Got a message - no signal detected.
I was ready to send the monitor back as defective but then found a DVI cable I had in my computer cable box - actually a longer cable than what Dell provided with the monitor - and everything worked fine.
Tried the Dell cable on a different monitor and it worked on it.
So I can only assume that the original Dell DVI cable caused either too much attenuation or somehow distorted the DVI signal so that the original monitor could no longer read it.

Interesting.

My cable is cca 1,5m long. So nothing special. I tried yesterday with another cable (thiner but the same lenght monitor cable) and it didn't worked at all (tried with both directions).

In conclusion...if it doesn't work, try swaping cable sides or try with another thicker cable.

Best regards

Hey.

VGA cable is only for picture. You need another cable for sound.
I don't know, what kind of input conector you need for your TV, but in general, something like this is needed:

Black conector on pic goes to laptop (speakers/headphones) line out, red and white chinch conectors goes to your TV.

I've been able to use my VGA output to my TV up until this moment but now for some reason when it's connected the screen on my Mini 10v goes grey and crashes. Only way out is a full power down.

Any ideas? i've managed to get past the 'mirroring off' issue in the past but this one has really stumped me.

any ideas very welcome!

Indeed, this works fine! Thanks a lot, klacid!
Anyone knows how to turn off mirroring permanently?
