I hate to say this.. But it shipped with a standard retail type Ubuntu CD. It's not a restore disk. I got two discs, one is Ubuntu 8.04, standard, not netbook remix, not dell's netbook remix, just standard ubuntu, and then the other disk is "Drivers and Utilities".. Very strange.. And the drivers/utilities disc has .exe and .msi files all over it. It has nothing to do with Linux at all???

On a side note, where the Windows XP sticker is on my friend's Mini9, mine has a giant n with the word "series" below it..

Ok guys, try this...
http://www.neonsquirt.com/Ubuntu_Mini9_Restore.torrent

I'll open up all my bandwidth for this, hopefully it seeds quick.. I've never created a torrent before, I hope this works at all. It's 1.1gigs, burn it to a DVD, it's in .iso format, anything can burn that. I burned a new copy after ripping it and confirmed that it's still bootable. It's a good image.

Thanks UnaClocker, this made my day.
I hope it's upgradeable to Intrepid when the time comes.

---> CHECK IT OUT!
Apparently the "Windows key" can be used to make any app go fullscreen! No worries about the F11 anymore

Alllllrighhhhhht!

Downloading the torrent now. One question for y'all: what's the best file system to format the drive in when installing Ubuntu? Or does the restore DVD automatically reformat the drive?

After my Mac OS X experiment, I want to try Ubuntu. I've used the full desktop version, but I'm interested to see how the mini version works on this wonderful little computer.

Cheers,

Steve

I think the CD does it for you--but one thing I do know is that it's a bad idea to have a swap partition when using a SSD hard drive--not sure if that is taken care of automatically either, but keep it in mind when installing.
