Hi there. Nothing special, I just want to greet another Dell Inspiron Mini 1018 users! Just 5 minutes ago I successfully upgraded LCD panel to matt HD (1366x768) one (from standard glossy one). I upgraded RAM to 2 GB before. I experience no major problems using this little boy, I love its portability.

I use Ubuntu 10.04, switch to Mint is in sight.

I am new to Computer and its stuffs
I have planned to get the Dell Inspiron Mini 1018
I am a student and an Articled Assistant in an Accounting firm. My uses include basic entertainment, E-mails, documentation, presentation, etc
My budget is below Rs.20,000
Is my choice right?
Is there any other good products for my situation? Please suggest

It depends...
For watching movies (not HD, HD sucks), listening music, browsing internet and remote desktop it is enough. I ocasionaly process some photos and do some programming (arduino). Only game I tried was OpenTTD, it was running fine. Keyboard is fine for typing, but probably it would be pain in the ass if used for lot of typing.

It was usable before upgrade, but I definitely recomend upgrading RAM for Win7 and screen for any OS. I appreciate bigger screen when I need to connect to remote desktop (citrix) to do bit of working.
