Default Vodafone and Internal 3G Sim - 01-18-2009, 10:18 AM

I had the internal 3g sim card from Vodafone working fine under Ubuntu 8.10 however a recent kernel upgrade seems to have stopped in working. I was using wvdial to connect but now I get:

Cannot open /dev/ttyACM0

It seems the SIM/modem is now been recognised as a USB device? Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Answering my own question but all this needed was a simple device reference change in /etc/wvdial.conf.

Code:
Modem = /dev/ttyACM0
changed to

Code:
Modem = /dev/ttyUSB4
