Nice find. Never thought we would ever get another update.
And what exactly is the good thing about that update? The changelog is a pure joke after so many months:
Intel« Graphics Media Accelerator 500

So absurd that no user reacts on the EMGD driver. Waste of time, obviously...

Back on XP from 7, I tested the EMGD1.5 driver release.

Same as on IEGD10.3: no Flash10.1/2 acceleration, no display turn-off after 1min, Hibernation function not working (results now in a system restart, before on IEGD10.3 it booted into black screen)

Whats working now: Brightness adjustement, gamma correction, display rotation

OpenGL acceleration works fine, same as 1080p playback with MediaPlayerClassic (but with some movies a kind of pixel distortion appears;have to recheck some other movie files)

I'm getting confused especially as Intel refers to these drivers by different version numbers (5.0.0.2030 e.g.)...is the drive in post #1 the latest or the various links people are posting just recently?

Tested many GMA500 drivers during the last few days.
IEGD10.3, IEGD10.3.1, IEGD10.3.3, EMGD1.5, latest official 3.3.0 (1018)

For WindowsXP IEGD10.3.1 seems to be the best driver.
FullHD1080p playback with MediaPlayerClassic, OpenGL acceleration (tested with Stellarium), and finally energy-saving functions do work (display timeout after xx minutes).
IEGD10.3.3 does the same as IEGD10.3.1 but you have to manually copy over the "iegd.inf" file from previous 10.3.1 version --> read here.

EMGD1.5 drivers worked as IEGD10.3 but the uninstallation process wasn't easy. Utilities for gamma correction, screen rotation and screen brightness are installed automatically with this driver version.
Had to remove all installed drivers & shell extensions/utilities (inside display properties they remain active while changing to other drivers...) manually.

Official 3.3.0 (1018) has no OpenGL acceleration and while opening 1080p media files in MediaPlayerClassic WindowsXP goes BSOD and restarts.

With all drivers FullHD1080p acceleration for Flash10.1/2 movies won't work; dunno if Adobe ever will support WindowsXP...
Tested newest Flash 10.2.161.23 version only - if anyone knows how to enable Flash hardware acceleration (Windows XP only, 7 worked fine) with older display drivers / Flash versions please let us know !

Same with hibernation function: IEGD10.3 boots straight into black screen (you have to manually restart your system), EMGD1.5, IEGD10.3.1 and IEGD10.3.3 instead do a reboot...

^^^
Be aware by installing this driver release !

It's some kind of modded; it won't enable the internal lvds panel by default so the screen remains black while loading into Windows GUI.

Solution:
copy over "iegd.inf" from iegd10.3.1 driver release.
don't forget to change inside "iegd.inf":

Code:
[Version]
DriverVer = 06/24/2010,10.3.3.1656
Otherwise it reports old 10.3.1 driver revision...

Problems installing under Windows 7

Tried the 10.2 and the latest version as posted above on the intel site 1.5 GOLD or something.

Updated the driver via device manager but every time I load into windows it gets up to Starting Windows and then black screen, nothing else. I have to start in safe mode, delete the driver and when it boots back up it installs the old GMA500 driver and works fine.

I have the mini 10 with (obviously) the GMA500 graphics.

Not seeing anyone else with this problem

Anybody tested 10.4 for XP yet? Waiting on the backup to finish before I try it.

Well, installed 10.4, upgraded Flash and everything seems to be working fine. No more long delays, pauses or audio sync problems with streaming videos now.

I downloaded 10.4 but I didn't realize that it requires what looks like a huge amount of configuration before it actually installs a driver...do you have any recommendations on those configs...
