![]() i updated to 10.6.8 and everything works. thanks to everyone here.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------- But i have one problem. i want to use hide partition key and the chameleon does not respond. it used to work with the 0.8.5 nbi. is there a way to just change the chameleon in the NBI special? ![]() |

![]() For you STEC users out there that can't get your mini 9 to sleep on 10.6.8, here is the fix!
This is how I did it: Locate /System/Library/Extensions/IOATAFamily.kext and delete it. Now go into Extra/GeneralExtensions and notice that you already have IOATAFamily.kext in there. That's the conflict, I had two of them loading at startup causing a problem. Now for the sleepenabler.kext, I simply put it in AdditionalExtensions and ran UpdateExtra. Wait until it has finished and then reboot. Done, that's it. Now my mini 9 sleeps perfectly. ;-) In my AdditionalExtensions folder I have the following items: ALC268.kext AppleHDA.kext CPUi.kext SleepEnabler.kext As of now: • Sleep works • Sound Works • Microphone Works • Camera Works • Bluetooth Works • Speed Step Works* * Freq, Volt and Temp change automatically with cpu load PS. For those wondering, on a full charge my mini says 3 hours remaining on the battery! 32GB STEC SSD : 2GB RAM NBI Version : Latest SpeedStep : [Enabled] USB Legacy support : [Disabled] |

![]() @Eligos:
I know this is one year after your post, but I still can't get sleep to work on my 10.6.8 Dell Mini 9 even after I deleted that IOAta extension that was being loaded aside from the /Extra one. I mean, the mini goes to sleep, the white light flashes.... I only get it to come out of sleep by pressing the power button shortly, then I see my desktop image but all is dead (keyboard, mouse, nothing works..it's like having a static wallpaper in front of your eyes). Any idea what else I could try ? |

see my post... did you remember to disable hibernation? ...used the tutorial from the beginning of thread along with new kernel. I dont use this mini much but my install used to do that freezing after sleep. But after starting from scratch, i rarely see it when using it. |

![]() updated by accident.
got stuck in reboot. held shift on boot to chameleon, got into safe mode by typing recovery=y. ran Disk Utility repaired permissions. ran NBI..351 terminal chmod… command didn't work(said legacy kernel not found though it was sitting in / ). got the files in dchao's post from osx86 dot com. ran legacy kernel installer. ran NBI..351 again. terminal sysctl says Inspiron1011 still. then after reboots it reads Macbook4,1 so I changed NBI..351 plist to Macbook4,1 still no after couple reboots. couple more reboots and working 10.6.8 with normal boot time! yay [no Bluetooth even though enabled in BIOS] all seems to work, sleep was fine without SleepEnabler kext …but no sound. reboots don't fix. tried Kext helper I had read Sleep enabler kext might fix sound, nope. if kexts aren't getting installed, something may need permission? I dunno maybe someone does? |
