Default HD Display in Mini 1018 - 03-23-2011, 05:15 PM

Not sure whether its common knowledge but the HD Display (1366x768) is definitely compatible with the 1018.
I ordered one from Ebay:
10.1" LCD Screen- DELL mini 10 WXGA HD Display 1366x768 on eBay (end time 15-Apr-11 20:48:38 BST)
Got it within a week (I'm in the UK) and fitting it was quite straightforward thanks to the excellent 1018 dismantling video here:
How to upgrade & dismantle the Dell Mini 10v 1018 | jRin.net

Obviously, it doesnt solve the QE/CI issue and theres no HD Accelerator ...but it does give you lots of screen real-estate!

I got a similar screen a few months ago on eBay, went in like a champ, replaced the lower rez screen that was cracked. (bought the netbook from a friend for $45, screen cracked was the only problem hehe) Looks incredible, night and day difference from the old screen!

Good effort to install the screen. Hope the guy you bought the system from doesn't feel you hood winked him. Only kidding. Good effort again; while the instructions are good its still a effort to replace the screen on any netbook. fdalbor
