![]() Ok, so I screwed up my netbook that was running OSX by upgrading to 10.6.8 and not reverting the kernel.
Here is the original thread: http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/dell...o-network.html The problem is I can't get the kernel onto the netbook - airport is screwed, a network cable plugged in does nothing and USB doesn't work. So I guess I need to reformat and start again from scratch...but, I can't seem to even boot from USB. When I insert a USB and boot, I don't get any options to boot from USB. Obviously there is no DVD so I can't boot from DVD. What do I do? Is the netbook bricked? Seems like it shouldn't be as I can boot to the OSX desktop..? |

![]() Maybe a stupid question, but do you have USB legacy support in the BIOS enabled when trying to boot from USB?
If it is enabled and it still wont boot from USB maybe your usb drive is not prepared correctly. To test if your netbook is bricked try and make a bootable usb with this: UNetbootin - Homepage and Downloads Just select one of the linux os from the dropdown menu and create a bootable usb drive. If it wont boot from that too, than you may have a problem with your mini9. If it boots to the linux installer then you just had a problem with the Usb drive containing the mac os installer. If this is the case just do it again from scratch, you can find the instructions on the forum... |
