Default Problem with Dell Streak touchscreen - 09-04-2010, 02:59 PM

I was wondering has anyone else got a problem with the touchscreen on the Dell Streak after the OTA update last night? After I installed the official O2 update, I have had frequent problems with the touchscreen not responding on half the screen! It is OK for an hour or so, then it restarts and the problem returns! Has anyone got the same problem or same advice for me? All help appreciated!

Can't say I have had that problem - certainly other ones though!

So much for O2 "waiting to make sure they got it right before release"...

Onlt TS issue I have had has been with the keyboard being twitchy. But for me, I am blaming fat-finger-syndrome, as I am improving in its use

Have you tried recalibrating the screen? Turn off your Streak and power on whilst holding both volume buttons when the menu appears select option 3.

I am having issues with the touch screen, most noticeably on the locked screen, where it is sometimes almost impossible to get it to respond, but yes sometimes the keyboard seems to be missing my key pressed.

I'm giving the screen recalibration a go, see if that helps any...

The calibration should do the trick. I had major issues with the multi touch not working on the bottom third of the screen and also the lock screen not responding intermittently and now it works a treat!

Let us know if it works.

Full day of play testing and it seems much better.

Thanks.

i was also having a twitching and acting weird kinda touch screen .... the caliberation has done the trick .. its absolutely fine now .... but the sad thing is that it should not have been the case ... dell really needs to look into this if they want to keep in competition in the market ....

Red face Problem With Dell Streak Touch Screen - 10-24-2011, 07:59 AM

Here in Australia I was not made aware of any recent update?

Anyhow, my Streak has had no problems and works as well as it did nearly a year ago when I bought it.

And whilst I am here, I strongly recommend the new "Official Hotmail" app.

Works great with attachments.
