Default Win 7 RC1 feels slower? - 05-06-2009, 06:20 PM

I'm not sure about you guys, but it seems like my mini9 is running slower, slower boot ups, slower responces, etc. Anyone else notice this?

Edit: in reference to the beta 7057 build.

Actually, the RC feels smoother and snappier than the Beta 7000.
But I haven't loaded a whole bunch of software yet- basically just ITunes, Avast and a Thunderbird beta. All is well so far. I had to download a couple of Mini 12 Vista drivers for Realtek- I had a couple of Base System Devices and and unknown device in Device Manager. But every thing works. The display seems crisper. I can read default fonts clearly without my glasses.

The touchpad is not as precise, the cursor sometimes jumps. I may decide to download a synaptics driver if fiddling with settings doesn't help.

Everything after 7068 I would say was slower. I feel my mini hangs a lot with 7077 and with 7100. I have mine dual booting with os x on a 32 gb runcore and os x "feels" faster now.

I don't see how dell mini 9 is so slow. My dell mini 12 runs absolutely fine on windows 7.

I do believe the bootup is a tad bit slower with the RC, as compared to the beta.

I've timed it on each build, and if anything, they managed to shave off a second or two with the last two builds.

Boot times are about the same on mine. Feels the same in the GUI and loading apps.

I previously had 7057 on my mini, but just upgraded to the RC.

Maybe it's just the fresh install, but it feels significantly faster to me. My 7057 build was starting to feel sluggish for whatever reason. I also think that being able to run the windows experience has an effect, because windows will optimize for an SSD automatically. I could not run this program in 7057...
