I thought I would start a poll to find out how many people have successfully installed 2GB in their Mini 10v and how many have a boot up failure like me!

I've got my Kingston Hyper-X installed and it runs beautifully. Added my vote.

For those whose RAM upgrade is failing, it may be helpful in troubleshooting if you could also report how many beeps your are getting during POST.

For example, if you boot a Mini9 w/o the memory installed you get 2 short beeps from Phoenix BIOS continuously...2beeps/pause/2beeps/pause, ect.

I believe it was three short beeps followed by two short beeps with longer pauses and then it stops. I will recheck it when I try my third (and last) 2GB memory stick.

I can now confirm that this memory stick works. Second time is a charm. Must not have seated the RAM right the first time.

Of course, now I have two extra screws and need to figure out where they came from. Doh!

Muzzymate: Thats the same ram i purchased but its not working (im not getting anything on the display). One thing is that I don't get any beeps, but the power light does come on. Did you notice a difference when you tried it the second time that may have caused it to lock in more?

Is there a system speaker or do the beeps come through the regular speakers?

I also used crucial value select ram and it worked fine.

The speaker cable is just under the palm rest and is one of the things that you need to disconnect when installing the memory and then reconnect - it may be that you didn't reconnect the small plug that goes into the socket on the motherboard.
