![]() As the title announce, 10.5.7 is here!! I am looking forward to installing when I have time near the end of this week, I am sure others will do this ASAP... so post here with your experiences.
Good luck! And hopefully everything goes well... As always, this is available via Apple Software Update or through a Combo Update released by Apple. I know members were concerned whether there would be a combo update or not... Here is the link to the Apple Support Page for 10.5.7. This page gives instructions for installation along with detailed information about what the update includes. Direct Download Link for Combo Update : LINK Please Note : I have not installed the 10.5.7 update. Other members are experimenting with mixed results. Please PROCEED AT YOUR OWN RISK. I am sure, in time, that everything will be resolved and 10.5.7 upgrade will be a breeze! Best Method So Far : compliments to Conq (and, of course, thanks to all of those who make this possible... bmaltais, meklort and anyone else who I may be missing that has contributed to DellEFI, etc) Also, user Richdmoore mentions that you may need to re-run the AboutThisMac.pkg ![]() ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Step-by-Step [requested] (correct me if I am wrong... this is merely a collaboration of info, I have not upgraded and am unable to do so [do not have my Mini]) Preparing for the Upgrade 1. Download DellEFI 1.1 or DellEFI 1.2a5 (either one will work -- I personally prefer 1.2) 2. Extract the files onto a USB drive 3. Download the Combo Update Upgrading 1. Run the Combo Update (downloaded in Step 3 above) 2. Let the Mini reboot 3. Boot into SAFE MODE (DellEFI 1.1 use "-x" at the prompt | DellEFI1.2 hold SHIFT) 4. After booting into Safe Mode, run the DellEFI 1.1 or 1.2a5 (whichever you chose) *READ STEP 5 before running!!!* 5. You want to do a "Custom" DellEFI -- reinstall the Mini 9 Extensions and recreate custom dsdt.aml file 6. Reboot Post Upgrade 1. Re-run the AboutThisMac.pkg 2. Run XSlimmer or Monolingual Meklort's Blog | NBI Google Code Page | osx.mechdrew.com -- the best OSX installation guides |

![]() I would avoid 10.5.7 until some of the efi guys get a hold of it.
10.5.6 is fine for my mini for the time being. |
