Default Last step: boot from SSD Problem - 04-08-2009, 11:30 AM

Hello.

I've got a problem: i can't boot directly from SSD.

I installed OSX 10.5 on 8GB SSD (original from Dell), run DellEFI and everything was ok.

Rebooted, take of the USB drive with syslinux etc, but i've got a grey image with:
"You need ti restart your computer. Hold down pover button for several second or press the restart button" in 4 languages.

Any solution? i think DellEfi was not able to modifyng something to force to run OX from SSD right?

I'm stuck on this last step too. I tried several installs from two USB flash drives, plus a direct install from a DVD drive and the installs were all successful but upon reboot into the USB DellMiniboot, I couldn't get the boot: command to recognize the SSD; although the BIOS setup recognizes the SSD. Does anyone who has anyone gotten past this point have any suggestions to get sucessful installs to recognize the SSD? - entering 80, 81 or 82 doesn't seem to be a viable option. HELP!!! - nothing worse than seeing land a few feet away, but not being able to get there.

When the installation ends, I can boot in OSX with the USB drive typing 81 and choose language, system setting ecc ecc and finish the installation. But when i run DellEfi it says that was succesful, but at reboot without the USB drive i'm stuck at this error

OOOOOk!

Now i have succesfully done everything!

For people having problems, i do this things:

1)Installed OSX 10.5 with the 2 USB metod Windows only with transmac
2)Finished the process selecting language, time zone ecc
3a)Runned Monolingual to remove extra languages and Other architecture (only Intel keep)
3b)removed some apps like Imail, Ichat ecc ecc to save space
4)installed 10.5.6 Combo Update from USb drive because the SSD is only 8Gb, so i didn't have space to keep the update plus the install file
5)Rebooted again with the USB drive
6)Runned DellEFI 1.1 to set scripts and the most important bootloader
7)Runned OSX from the SSD without the USB stick

Remember only 1 thing: when you install OSX on the SSD, format the SSD in FAT. Then, when you start the instal process it will ask you to format the SSD in Mac journaled, and this is important because you will obtain more free space instead of formatting the SSD in MAC journaled from the beginning.
