currently trying to see if i can wake my sleeping Mac Pro via Back To My Mac on the 10v. problem is that perhaps the Mac Pro early 2008 is not able to accomplish it - when it's asleep it doesn't show-up in the finder. when it's awake it does show-up and i can do screen-sharing etc.

i've tried to set it up as explained here: Back to My Mac User’s Guide

but the problem is that when i scan in Airport Utility on the Mac Pro, as directed above, nothing is recognised and i'm told that nothing can be found.

i would love to be able to access my Mac Pro from anywhere via an internet connection....can someone please help?

ps - i have MobileMe activated on both machines

...wake on wireless should be mentioned in there somewhere but it's not.

ps - using the mac app Teleport allows me to wake-up the sleeping mac and put it to sleep. can share files/screen-share etc. but i guess this is just a local solution...

I'm not sure about your sleep problem, but between two computers that are not in sleep, I can confirm it works perfectly. I would assume that your problem is with the Mac Pro, not the mini.

its working fine - i just needed to mess with some settings. although teleport will wake the sleeping Mac Pro over LAN, i can't use it to wake it over the internet.
