Default Success? - 09-26-2009, 10:55 PM

Ok. Memory up to 2GB. SL installed without a problem using 0.8.3RC1. Also got the rest of the Box Set installed too. What appears not to work at this point is the built-in camera, which I can't even find in the system preferences area where the other hdwe shows up. This could be because I am essentially clueless about OSX at this point, but the learning curve is very steep right now and with the fabulous help of the geniuses on this forum, I am getting started. I'll dig around in the forum for answers about the camera issue. If anyone knows what i have done wrong, let me know. I don't want to call it a bug at this point and report it as such, because it is probably my error/ignorance. BTW, Thyraz, I followed the steps you cut from Crisu's post and rebooted to the usb stick after installation to run NBI from there. Quite painless! Thanks for the point in the right direction. Bmcclure937, loads of thanks for your detailed outline, pointers, and patience. I will be supporting my developers.

Gratulation to your working Macbook Mini.

About the camera:
I haven't tested it in iChat or Skype, but it's working fine in Photo Booth for me.

Thanks for all the help guys. Camera is working today. Only thing different is that I rebooted a couple of times. Noticed that when I set up the trackpad for "edge motion" under the advanced tab, the mouse freezes and I have to plug in a usb mouse to rescue it. Happened three times, but easy to fix. I guess I'll report it on the official site as a bug. Otherwise all is good.

The Bug is already known.
If you wanna use Edge Scrolling, disable horizontal scrolling and you're fine.

Or just use 2 finger scrolling instead (which works in both directions).

Thanks again. I am going to do the Sleepwatcher thing today, and then enjoy this machine and keep it tuned up as Meklort, et.al. continue to tweak NBI. Folks at work are already casting envious glances at this baby!

I'm thinking of trying the same thing (installing SL with the method posted by bmcclure937) on the DellMini 9...would it work the same way as for the 10v?

Looking for a real "mini"...the 9!

@Minerva, I had a mini9 but the keyboard was too small for a good experience so I baught a 10v which was much better, also the bonus of a larger screen and a little thinner laptop. The new touchpad drivers is much better than mini9 was, however they are probably improved now too.

10v - Upgraded to 2 GB RAM - Upgraded with Bluetooth - 160 GB HD - Downgraded A04 BIOS - SL 10.6 and Win 7 RTM
