Default Issue with 1.6.1 Update/Clockwork - 02-07-2011, 11:09 PM

I am starting with a stock US/AT&T Dell Streak.
Baseband: GAUSB111231-US
Build number: 6601

I rooted the device using superboot. This seemed to work fine.

I then installed Rom Manager. I flashed Clockwork Recovery and it said it was successful. (It installed ClockworkMod version 2.5.0.7).

I created the install.txt and placed it in the root of my SD Card. I also copied the update-1.6.1.zip file to the root of my SD Card.

So far so good...

So now I power down the streak and boot while holding both volume keys. I am presented with a menu.

I scroll to option #2: Software upgrade via Upgrade.pkg on SD Card.

I click the camera button to select option 2. At point the screen blanks and the streak does nothing.

The only way I can reboot is to remove the battery.

Any ideas of what I am doing wrong or missing?

Thanks in advance,
RCB

I have also attempted to install clockworkmod via fastboot. I still get the blank screen issue. It has been suggest to hit the powerbutton at this point and see if the recovery manager start. This did not work for me either.
