The "LBA CHS" message seems to be specific to FlashBoot and appears to indicate the USB drive is too small, or something like that. See the FlashBoot user manual.

Are you saying that an XP install CD will not boot?

Hi thanks for the reply! yea i looked at the flashboot manual it dosent give
any resolution to the LBA CHS problem it says bigger flashdrives like 8 gb and above wont work, and yea i cannot get the original cd to boot either i changed the boot order the light on the drive comes on like its reading it but nothing happens i disable everything else but the cd rom drive it says operating system not found, and like i said when i log on to windows normally i can open the win xp disk and play audio cds etc... any more ideas?

-thanks in advance~

Usually this is caused by insufficient power to the CD drive. However, I had a CD/DVD drive fail on me where no matter what I did it would not read. I replaced it and the new one worked fine.

Had same problem loading winxp today with external drive.

All I did is used a different usb cable, plus tried from every usb port. Not using any external power for external drive. The usb port I've had best luck with is the one next to the power jack.

External drive is iomega idvd8peb
dell mini 910 winxp
supertalent ssd 16gb
512mb

Well, there is only one with "sufficient" power, the others are useful for low-power devices only.
