Default what happened to the dual core 11z? - 11-02-2009, 10:22 PM

I have been shopping on the dell website and was intent on the 11z with the dual core....but now Dell doesn't seem to be offering it. What gives? Is this temporary?

Default Looks available to me.. - 11-03-2009, 03:12 AM

Its still there.. It is the Pentium SU4100. I think you may be looking for a core 2 which is not an option.

Yep, I can verify that too. They just don't say specifically that the Pentium SU4100 is dual-core. That's not to be confused with the SU2700 which is NOT dual-core, but is offered on Lenovo's 11.6" model.

Cheers,
Charlie

On Dell's website, when purchasing the 11z, there are two Celeron processor choices, no Intel, no dual core....at least as of yesterday and today. Also, no dual core option on outlet computers.

Furthermore, when clicking on the "Inspiron" section, no 11z comes up....you can only find it when clicking on "all laptops".

I think that they (at least temporarily) suspended the dual core Intel option.

After playing in Dell's site a little longer, I found another way in, offering a choice between the celeron 743 or the Intel SU4100....still no dual core.

I am thinking that they quietly backed off of it, or have just plain run out of the chip for now.

It's been removed from the EPP site but the intel is available on the regular site. How odd. Hopefully they are making changes. A price drop or more options would be nice Been waiting for someone to make one of the thin & lights stand out above the rest.

They've also taken the color options away on EPP.
