I really recommend this R254204 WWAN driver instead of officially available for Dell Mini 10. On the official one I have got countless problems - BSODs, random connection drops, WWAN connection disappearing after standby/hibernation etc. These issues seems to be resolved now.

Hi pop123,

you can try the driver I post. Because this is from R2T03 release which means QS4.9 (ericsson version, i think). The R254204 is R2S04 release which means QS4.8.
Have a look in the information hints.

If you look in the microsoft test labs they have 1.0.77 but the QS4.9 is driver version 1.0.66 (for the network card). So this means there will be more driver updates

Just for the record, firmware update on 5530 WWAN finally fixed all my problems: hanged/stalled connections, BSODs, device disappearing from device manager after sleep..

Please refer to this thread for all the details:

Anyone have the REAL gps drivers that dell had listed for W7? The ones from the first page dont work at all for copilot. The ones that dell had listed worked flawlessly but they took them down awhile back and I just reinstalled W7 and i need the drivers again.

Try this driver.
It's from Dell and also suitable for GPS 700.

Best regards Zero

PS: But the other should work too. Just do a usual driver install.
Full install will not work...

Just tried to install the driver from post #1 for DW700 GPS and it fails saying Windows found driver software for your device but encountered an error when attempting to install it : DW700 NMEA port - system couldn't find the file specified.

This is in Windows 7 Ultimate x86

EDIT: Driver in post above installed OK after I figured out the German.

Glad you asked as I hadn't checked in Windows 7. It kept closing on me so I tried running as Admin, no good. So I went to copilot.exe and under Properties/Security I told it to run in compatibility mode with Windows XP SP3 and as an Administrator (just for good measure, may not be necessary) and it worked, but I couldn't activate it as it's already installed on my XP partition and they don't allow 2 installations despite being the same machine basically.

If anyone knows how to get around that I'd be glad to hear about it.

the legal thing to do would be to un-install one of them....anything else really can not be discussed on this forum....
