@aszu
About opengl in standard drivers... I think its a loooong term goal... Because they need to have at minimum a stable driver... Even performace improvements are long term goals in my opinion.

About artifacts in aero... The latest driver doesn's show anyone... I'm using it from a couple of days. DirectDraw works... A little...

The story however is kown: the chip was NOT thinked to be used under Vista, neither 7. It's original destination were MIDs. With closed operating system, or with Xp embedded. Stop.
So drivers, at the time, were devoloped in this direction. This year they have seen that these chips are used in normal netbook. So they have started making a sort of drive... But it was LATE...
If you read release notes... They are crazy... There are so much bugs and fixes, that it seems some early alpha release...

@moderators
I think that a little faq about common problems of gma500 and their answers it's not a bad idea... This should avoid opening up threads about just resolved problems.

Thanks for posting that Somms... a good find!

Just to clarify the position with these drivers, the read-me file states that they are for systems containing the following Intel chipsets:

* Intel(R) SCH US15W Chipset
* Intel(R) SCH UL11L Chipset

Does this mean that they are compatible with the Mini 10v, as well as the 10, as I was under the impression that the chipset in the 10v is the Intel 945GSE UMA (GMA950)?

I thought it best to be clear on this point, before we all start trying to install them!

They are compatible ONLY with Mini 10 NO"v".

Mini 10 with "v" is extremely similar to the majority of netbooks... Its driver is released together with other intel drivers.

Mini 10 NO"v" have a chipset called "US15W" alias Menlow. It's graphic core is called "GMA500" alias Poulsbo. It's cpus are "Z5x0" alias Silverthorne.

Thank you for clarifying that 'berga.d'

Hopefully it will stop at least one person trying to install the driver onto their 10v.

I will now delete the file, I downloaded earlier, just in case!

You can check to see if you can set res to 1024X768. I was after installing on the RC.
Eh, never mind, mine was a previous driver that enabled the higher res.

How has the latest driver (.2020) been for everyone else? On the Windows Experience Index, Aero Graphics performance has plummeted to 1.0 on my Mini, and it was at 2.3 before (running driver .2019). Haven't tested anything else, but this is just the first thing I check...
