Default Mini 10 Hi Reso Screen?!!? - 06-01-2009, 06:20 AM

Since all the hype with the 10v, does anyone have a good ol 10 with the hi resolution screen? I would really like to see some side by side pics, or even just some pics of that screen in action. Please no screenshots though, that doesn't do justice enough, at least for me.

That would be great!

hd screen is nice. but the regular screen is good for daily use as well.

I had no problem using either for what I am doing on my mini, check email, surfing internet, messenger, watch hulu/youtube and some tv shows that i have.

if you decided to by mini10, i'd recommend the upgrade. but it shouldn't be something that keeps you away from 10v or 9. resolution has never been an issue on the 9, at least for me.

So who is going to be first to try and install a Mini 10 HD screen into their Mini 10v?

I assume you can order the HD screen as a replacement part from Dell...

I'm sure this part wouldn't be cheap and may in fact trump the cost of just buying an entire Mini1010 (Mini10) with the upgraded HD screen outright!

Good point.

OK, in that case. Who's going to be the first to buy a HD Mini 10 and Mini 10v in order to swap the screens?

I vote for you, buddy.

If 10v uses the same regular screen as 10, I'd say it's a easy swap.

I took the keyboard off on two 10's, one with regular screen and one with HD scree. The connectors look identical. I doublt there's any difference. Just like external monitors. you have standard interfaces, vga, dvi or what ever. just different resolution.

Do you access to those 2 Mini 10's anymore? You were so close! Just had to actually plug it in and try it...

I am typing this on my new mini 10 (1010) with an HD screen. I ordered a 1010 and a 1011 at the same time but the 1011 is delayed until July 2nd apparently.

I will be attempting to switch the screens when the 1011 is delivered. Then I can pass this 1010 onto some poor schmuck at work and keep the 1011 all to myself! Mwuahahah! (assuming it works that is...)

I will post the results. Stay tuned!
