i have looked around a bit and haven't seen the kind of coverage there is on this site to covert the 1000HE to Leopard. that's what pushed me to the dells.

I'd hate to use the same netbook as everyone else on the street.

Really.
You came on a Dell site to say how much better YOU like the Asus and then feel the need to defend your position. What did you expect? It would be like me going to a Chevy truck site and asking them if they like their Silverado's more than my Nissan Titan.

I dont care about how much you like your Asus, and I'm sure most of these people dont either, but thanks for your time.

Titan! Don't get me started about the Nissan Titan!

I'm just kidding.

I received my 1000HE today, from Staples. I also ordered the Dell 10v. I can a comparison once the 10v arrives.

I really like the 1000HE, but i noticed the fan is really loud, is mine defective?

My 1000he came that way too. If you clock your cpu faster, the fan gets louder. Supposedly there might be a newer bios that makes it quieter. I haven't tried it yet.

Scarpad... adjust the brightness and contrast in the video driver on that AAO and see if that stops the blink and flicker.

Each one seems to have a different sweet spot... sadly, it doesn't always result in a very good display (but does eliminate the issue).
