Follow the guides.
Don't use an SD card. Use a USB key.
Also use a retail DVD, period.
I've done this three times.
The guides work.

i've already made the image of a retail dvd. So you are saying that the big image must be written on a usb key ? wow's gonna take a loooong time...

Depending on your USB key, it shouldn't take any longer than writing the image to an SD card.

No need for usb key finally ! used a dvd drive pluged onto a IDE to USB bridge (originally used for making external HDDs lol).
As i couldn't wait for my retail dvd i tried iatkos s3v2 and let me tell you that after some different tries it works like a charm :P
installation is a bit long (around 45min) and then 1st boot will seem like it's freezing but it wasn't !
netbookinstaller v0.8.5pre takes ages to install but once the drivers installed and extensions merged with the one installed with iatkos it is ok !
enjoy !

NetbookInstaller 0.8.5pre has been released and "partially" works.
Once all the problems have been fixed i will try and re-write the guide i previously did.

I have a 1012 and A07 bios. I tried to boot from a USB drive created from restore of the OSX 10.6.0 DVD and netbookinstaller 0.8.4RC1 or (0.8.5Pre), both ended up with a white screen on boot.

If I enter "-v" to see the boot process, it is stopped at line 5 "patching mach_kernel". Anyone have the same issue? Do I need to be on specific BIOS?

Thanks for your help.

Got it: need "arch=i386" to boot
