I purchased an upgraded battery on ebay from a seller in China with the seller name battery 918. The battery didn't work. The seller told me to charge the battery for 14 hours before attempting to use it. I read the battery thread here and tried charging it. My notebook still couldn't identify the battery and the battery wouldn't power on the notebook. The seller told me to mail it back and I would get an exchange. I sent it back. A month went by and I heard nothing from battery 918 so I sent them an email asking them what they were going to do. They told me that they never received the battery and that it was up to me to prove that I returned it. I told them that I was done fooling with them and I placed the sale in dispute with the credit card issuer. I got an email from battery 918 the same day saying that they found the battery had credited my paypal account with a full refund and please don't give them negative feedback. I then bought another battery from a different seller on ebay that ships from the US and received a great battery today. Beware of battery 918 on ebay if you upgrade your battery.

I bought mine through Amazon - ships promptly from the US and backed by Amazon's A-Z guarantee. Works well, too.

RAM Upgrade - no problem

SSD Upgrade - had to replace the drive due to defect

Mac OSX - took some tinkering, but now it works

High Capacity Battery - I ordered one from eBay. It seems to work okay, but the problem is that when I remove the power cord, the LEDs blink constantly - white/orange - It is not a big deal, but it creates a distraction when I am trying to watch a movie. The battery seems to be charging, but the LEDs are starting to push me over the edge. Any suggestions?

I am having the same problem with blinking lights using a high capacity battery I got off ebay. I quite using it because I did not want to cause any damage to my Mini 9. Since it was too late to return the battery, I have it stashed on a shelf. I really would like to use it but do fear damage to my computer - the blinking lights just don't seem normal. Does anyone have a solution or information concerning this problem?

No damage - but it won't charge while the lights are flashing.

I see a lot of people with that problem with the 8-cell battery. I think I will go for the 4 cell battery from MDD...

if you have to unplug and/or turn off for the large battery, then two normal batteries (without the weirdness) makes lots more sense.

A small piece of black electrical tape to cover the LEDs while watching the Movies. Out of sight, out of mind. As holmes4 mentioned, the flashing is an indication the battery is not charging in this instance. Holmes4 has the remedy for this I believe. It has been discussed by others and there is a thread on it.
