I still use mine for travel & surfing outside in the sunshine, but I just invested in a Nook Color that I'll dual boot with Android 2.3 or 3.0. Am excited about it.

New life on the Mini 9 running Chromium OS Lime by Hexxeh. I'm gonna change the 6-cell to a 3-cell battery and have it with me everywhere for my quick use and also as a quick loaner for friends and family. No virus worries. Posting this reply on it. I've closed the lid and opened it a few times today. About 3 seconds wakeup each time with wifi active.

I have another Mini 9 as an internet workstation downloader (which I control from the internet using Logmein)

Just got mine 3 weeks ago on Ebay for $120. Someone's grandmother passed away and they found it in her garage. You can't tell it from new. I'm loving it...put OSX 10.6.7 on it and use it for surfing, bills, email, face book at the kitchen table. I'm planning on a year or two with it. I have $200 invested and that includes a new Runcore 32. I also got a camera and cable for $7.00 which I plan on installing.

I already have an Imac at work and a Mac Mini at home. I bought a retail Snow Leopard last summer. So I was already set there.

A tablet couldn't run full Microsoft Office 2007. And a larger form factor than the Mini 9's would be inconvenient for me, also most larger laptops have a fan / aren't silent. Skype and Chrome still work a treat... I also listen to / watch audio and video on the go.

It's ideal for me and I don't even know when I would want to replace it.

Count me in too. It is on every day in our family room, currently with out a battery (had to MRA after 60 days ).

Got it as an linux machined, it still is. has 2 gb of ram, and a recent 16 gb ssd upgrade.

I can boot it, check email, and shutdown while a window machien is still booting.

I had an Android tablet for several month but sold it.

I am back to the Mini 9 when travelling. Does everything for me from giving Powerpoint presentations via VGA to Video Skype. Running Win 7 allows me to use all software written for this platform. Tried the latest Chrome running of a USB stick and I was impressed.

I like the fast boot time with the SSD, no fan noise and very portable. Never had a problem.
