![]() FYI - These instructions can be applied if you're only adding BT, or only adding the webcam as well. Parts needed can easliy be ordered thru yaphet_merrit@dell.com. Just provide your name, address, city, state, zip, contact phone, Dell customer number,...

![]() Argh! Disaster!
I was almost done, Bluetooth adapter installed, and the palm rest back in place and screwed in when I noticed that the mouse buttons were a little misaligned. Foolishly, I unscrewed the palm rest again and popped it off, suddenly realizing that I forgot to disconnect the cables! The 2 lower cables are intact, but the power button cable broke off. I am so sad. The cable now has 2 tiny metal prongs coming off of it, but it looks like there are 4 connectors on the power button board. How many are there supposed to be? I feel that if there are only supposed to be 2, then I could fix it. Maybe. Help me before I cry. Here is where it talks about the power cable in the manual. http://support.dell.com/support/edoc....htm#wp1179885 |

![]() Ok, I'm fairly certain that there are only two prongs on the ribbon cable for the power switch. My only question now is how do I reconnect it? Soldering gun? Adhesive? I'm clueless.

![]() Crisis averted. I ran out and bought a soldering iron and hooked up the ribbon cable with no problems. Scary stuff.
Ironically, my mouse buttons are still wonky, but at this point, I'm just glad this thing works. |

![]() About to try the BT and WebCam modules myself. Was hoping to do it this weekend since my box of parts came in today. Open the box up to find out that they forgot the LVDS cable. Damn Dell!!! Called them up and explained that they forgot to send me the correct parts. The CSR was very helpful. They are shipping me part H243J to complete the service kit for part X051J. Now I'm just questioning myself if I should install the BT module now and wait til next week and take it apart again for the WebCam module... LOL

![]() I just want to say, thanks. I used the hacked dell driver and am up and running. Directions were easy and now I have working bluetooth for around $25 . I'm still a newb to the forum, but have had success in easily upgrading my Mini.

![]() I want to extend a big Thank-You for providing this information. While I could of looked it up in the online manual, having it all in this one place and laid out so well was a HUGE help in my installation of oth the bluetooth and 1.3m camera into my Dell mini 9. Now I just have to wait till I can afford the larger SSD, and this little puppy will be a smokin'!!!
