Default GPS support on Ubuntu 10.04LTS - 03-26-2013, 09:38 PM

Hi There!

Any idea how to get use of the integrated GPS chip within Dell 5530 WWAN card? I mean that using gpsd i cannot make use of the gps chip.

Ubuntu 10.04LTS is seeing in my laptop:
/dev/ttyACM0
/dev/ttyACM1
/dev/ttyACM2

Aparently first one is the control port so i started a screen session to this and issue some Hayes (AT) commands that are ment to initialize the GPS chip.

Indeed start getting some coordinates inside screen but never got them seen by xgps.
Also there seam to be a conflict between the Connection Manager and the gpsd as both are attemting to use maybe the same ports.

Best regards,
Tibor
