Default My retro gaming console mini 9 - Now with photos of the setup - 01-29-2011, 02:59 PM

I think this would be the dream of every mini 9 owner. Transform the mini 9 into a portable retro gaming console. I am using sofware such as Project64 1.6 to emulate Nintendo 64 which works very well on my custom modified mini 9.
To control it I use a Cyborg Rumble Pad mapped with Xpadder but you can use any controller.

Here are three photos of my custom modified mini 9:

Post your experiences with retrogaming on the mini 9 here!

I haven't modified mine by any means like this, but I have put every single emulator imaginable on my Mini 9. It really does make a great retro gaming console. I find myself playing NES and arcade games a lot on the device.

What I usually do is use the system only and output the video via a bigger monitor or compatible vga device.

I do have end-of-life plans to put my Mini 9 in a some kind of tiny retro cabinet and have a keyboard/arcade joystick in it....

I was planning to do this with my 1010 after cracking the case, and building a little tabeltop game cabinet. Ended up giving it to my sister instead with Ubuntu as her son has a knack for boogering up computers with Windows....

I did have a few emulators on my 9 which ran really well. I was surprised at how it played video. Would make a kick butt tabletop game station.
