Default New Broadcom Wireless Drivers - 02-16-2009, 04:19 PM

If you guys are fed up with the slow association time it takes for the original Broadcom wireless card every time you return from standby or fresh boot, there are new Broadcom drivers that resolves that.

I'm using WPA2 802.11x so I'm not sure if the slow association happens with any other mode. ( And I haven't seen anyone complain about it on here) Basically it would take longer than 10 seconds to associate with the access points, and that highly unacceptable for people using active directory as group policies would fail.

Here's the link:

The version on it is 5.10.38.26, and the one from dell was 4.170.77.3 I believe.

Thanks for the good news!

But for some reason, my device manager could not find the updated software even when I specified the path of the new driver. Am I missing something...??

I think you have to use use "I choose the driver to install" option in XP. That worked for me
