Default Realtek NIC driver - 12-11-2008, 01:00 PM

After installing a vlite'd version of Vista, I couldn't be happier with my mini's performance. I do have one problem though. My Realtek RTL8101 driver does not appear to be working. In device manager I get a message stating: The device cannot start (Code 10). Is anyone else having this problem?

Bios A01
1GB RAM
16 GB SSD

I had tried that already with no luck. What did work was installing the driver manually, and picking the Realtek RTL8102E driver instead of the RTL8101 which Vista picks by itself. The RTL8102E works like a champ.

Thank you so much for this post!!! I had the same problem with the RealTek RTL8101 network adapter, none of the latest RTL8101 drivers would work. I tried the RTL8102E driver as you recommended and it worked!!
