Question Strange Error with Optional Installs. Thoughts? - 04-22-2016, 08:10 PM

Hello everyone,

Recently I found myself in need of Rosetta. I still have my original USB install stick, so I thought I would just install from that. Easy, right?

Well no. I am getting an installer check error:

This is kind of baffling to me. Any thoughts on a workaround? Has anyone had this issue before?

I'm a Windows guy, so take this with a grain of salt. But its possible that the version of Mac OS doesn't recognize NTFS or FAT32 storage. So you may need to re-format the USB to EX4 so that your Mac can read it correctly. This would need to be done on a Linux computer, because Windows doesn't read/write to EX4, and Mac doesn't read/write to NTFS. But Linux does both so that you can take the data off before you format it, and put it back on after.

FAT32 is ok, NTFS is not.

I have had to reinstall from this drive before, so I am pretty confident the drive is okay.

I was able to add the installer to my desktop. Same issue running it there. I just don't understand why it is flagging my drive as not having OSX on it. It clearly does.

Does anyone know where else I could get Rosetta?
