Default Frequently Asked Questions and other good Mini9 Advice - 01-27-2009, 05:49 PM

FAQ:

Buy from the Outlet. The prices start as low as $199.00 and go up. This is a $100 savings from new and comes with the same warranty options and return period. Factor in a 20% off coupon that pop-up rather frequently and you can easily get a Dell Mini 9 for less than $200 with tax...

I'd appreciate any help
Without going into a ton of detail here I would recommend making yourself familiar with this website : http://www.tweakxp.com/

They have all kinds of tips and tricks to getting the most out of your Windows XP computer, especially if you want to strip the system to its bare bones for the most performance out of a slower computer aka the Mini 9.
Cheers

any other decal vendor have a slightly better fit? ( i am crappy at cutting stuff myself... )
The only place that I know of is http://www.skin-it.com. They have decent fitting stuff.

I was going to go there for my skins, but DecalGirl seems to have better prices. And the 'crime scene' skin is delicious, as I'm a crim justice major and bought this Mini expressly for my classes, I can't resist it.

Default user account

I have a dell mini 9 that I have been running Mac on for over a year I set up a new one a couple day's ago and copied the old one to the new one it worked fine but the original Dell got the User Account switched to a different user so now when I try to turn it on and it begins to boot it won't because it doesn't know the account how can I boot the machine up so I can delete the wrong account in System Preferences?

Thanks for your guides! I will definately view how to install Windows 7 properly. At the moment i have Win7 on but cant use the bluetooth/wireless/webcam even though i have reinstalled all the drivers available from Dell so it will be good to see how everyone has gotten these features back otherwise i will have to revert the Mini9 back to either WinXP or Ubuntu which i have never used before and i much prefer Win7 because im lazy and want my o/s to just connect to anything i put on it.
