Default 10.6.3 / No Sound.. - 03-30-2010, 01:32 PM

I just updated to 10.6.3 after running "NetbookInstaller 0.8.4 RC1". Seemed to go well except Audio was greyed out upon reboot. I then ran NBI again and rebooted. Audio gets greyed out everytime. Ughhh Why didn't I wait...

Any thoughts?

Anyone?

Skuzzle

I finally worked up the courage to boot into my Windows 7 partition. Seems it made it thru the update without getting "borked".

Come on, nobody has any hint on how to get my 10.6.3 audio going again??

---------- Post added at 08:50 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:44 PM ----------

ALright.
My 10.6.3 install seems to have repaired itself! After booting into Windows 7, then shutting down, then booting into 10.6.3 my audio works fine.

I'm walking away from the thread quietly hoping that I don't have to come back...

shutting down actually seems to fix a few issues, namely audio and BT.

Also running UpdateExtra seemed to fix my audio issues.

yeah...you have to reboot after running nbi for the changes to take effect.

Ughhh..

Restarted the machine and the audio is dead again.. This seems to be the same issue that "achmeingott" is having.

The Only solution i found that worked was to use the old applehda.kext from 10.6.2.

Dell Mini 10v: Obsidian Black, 1GB DDR2 533MHz Ram, 1.6GHz Intel Atom, 120GB FUJITSU HDD, 6-Cell, Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.3 Build 10D573 booted with Chameleon 2 RC5 pre6, Dell Wireless 1397 flashed! (Everything working, now featuring sleep when closing lid!)

yeah the audio is dependent on DSDT, so an upgrade is only going to effect the applehda.kext, if you've done everything you can think of, just replace the applehda.kext in s/l/e with an older one...if that doesn't work then it's simply something you've done, bios setting, or something of the likes, audio DOES work, have installed this update on 8 dell mini's now.

Yes, I've tried the old standby fixall "repair permissions" to no avail. Thanks Felix.

I suspect the issue has something with Chameleon 2 and my Windows 7 partition as booting in Win7 then restarting my machine gets the audio going again till I shut the machine down.
