Meklort:

Here is my Extra folder:

files.me.com/tnolen/yd9212

use pswd: hackintosh for both access at me.com and to unzip the file.

Thanks and good luck.

My 10.6.4 update experience:

- Performed update via software update.
- Stuck on spinning wheel upon reboot (Mini9 laptop logo also appeared instead of Apple logo)
- Waited 10mins, rebooted Verbose, got to desktop
- Ran NBI 8.4RC1, rebooted, kernel panic.
- Booted with recovery=y, got back to desktop
- Reran NBI with only mini10v extensions enabled
- Rebooted (Apple logo on boot again), working 100%

Well, I think I know what the problem is and I should have it fixed soon.

EDIT: Until I get this fixed correctly, this should work. boot with recovery and run the version below, it's (almost) the exact same as RC1, just one tiny logic change).

Still KP's with the tweaked NBI you linked Meklort.
Anything else I can do to help let me know.
Also I should add I have Zero extra kext from other sources loaded other than yours bundled w/NBI.

I wan't sure if that would work (my build environment is currently messed up, so I just binhacked the binary).

I'll fix it correctly tonight.

The issues is that NBI has a hardcoded value of 256mb for the ramdisk that it uses to create the Extensions.mkext. It copies /S/L/E to the ramdisk and then /Extra/<macine>Ext there. On my machine, the /S/L/E is larger than 256mb, and that's causing issues. You can always try removing kexts that you know you'll never need (such as Nvidia and ATI kexts from /System/Library/Extensions, which'll easily cut out 50+mb) in order to reduce the size and rerun NBI again.

What I need to do is change the way NBI work in order to really fix this, but that'll take a little bit of time. I'll try to increase the hardcoded value as a temporary fix one I fix my build environment.
