I believe a full retail DVD is required, not an upgrade disc.

It depends on what kind of upgrade disc it is. Many of them are just regular install discs, and that can be used to install fresh. I don't think you can do an actual upgrade.

Both 10.6 and 10.6.3 SL disks were labeled as 'upgrade' disks, but contain the full OS.

You can use either one of those to install on the 10v.

cheers.

I know I'm years behind here, but any chance of the guide getting re-uploaded? Would love to check out.

to my regret i can tell you that this is not possible anymore.
since the original topic starter is no longer on this forum,
nor are the files anywhere to be found even in the forum logs. (tried finding other older files with useful tools, they where gone.)

I deleted all of my osx stuff when I swapped to my new desktop. That was one of the the reasons I had asked if anyone was still using OSX on the mini's. I had quit when chrome no longer was updated for osx 10.6. If I locate the files on backup I will update the post and see where I can drop them. In addition, I think I had copied the guide to word.
